This collection hosts the outcomes from the European Union’s Horizon Europe project VALOR (VALues and dependence of society on pollinatORs) under grant agreement No. 101181169 (2025-2028). VALOR brings together interdisciplinary researchers, NGOs and businesses, with the aim to co-develop and demonstrate a systems-based approach to understanding, measuring and responding to changes in the benefits that pollinators provide to society and the economy. VALOR bases its approach on the specific needs of seven European focal regions (Tenerife, Spain, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, the UK, and Sweden), to build a better understanding of the flow of pollination benefits across actors and make our methods, tools, databases and models visible and accessible. Throughout the project, VALOR will work through our existing networks of policy and business collaborators to maximise the engagement with our outcomes, datasets and tools, build synergies with the wider pollinator research community and effectively mainstream pollinators into decision-making at all levels throughout Europe.
The RIO Collection will evolve along with the VALOR project, providing a valuable resource for researchers, policymakers and practitioners, and hosting various project outputs, including research papers, reports, policy briefs, guidelines for businesses, a handbook of methods and more.
